Pre caesarean cleansing and swabbing should be discussed ahead of time for full informed consent. Not every unit is doing this yet before (almost all do it afterwards to remove clots and reduce infection) but pre cleansing has a lot of benefits in reducing the chance of infection significantly, and more and more units are now implementing this through bundles, multi care packages (along with other interventions) due to the amount of research available to support this practice now. #caesarean #cs
