Achieving that beautiful flat linear finish on cast iron using the metal shaper 😯 This is a technique I learned about reading one of my old machine shop books on planer and shaper use. Flat nose tool is honed square to the work surface. Use a high step-over feed rate and a max depth of cut of .003”. Many old machine tables were finished this way. If you ever look at a planer or shaper table with this linear cut pattern, this is the technique that was used to make that final finish. #abom79 #mac
