Throughout the month of June, we have been sharing videos from our print shop exhibit demonstrating letterpress printing with multiple colors of ink. For this one, we wanted to see how our Museum appeared in rainbow. In this video, Howard letterpress printed an image from a modern photo engraving based on a lithograph of Sacramento’s City Hall and Waterworks building from 1857. Throughout the month of July, we will be highlighting items from the print shop at the Sacramento History Museum and we will be using red, white, and blue ink. In this video, Howard letterpress printed an image from a photo engraving from the Bill Skarles Collection. This patriotic cut depicts a bald eagle.
