Is the Nano Traxion a good choice for top rope soloing? I wanted to love it. The lack of a hold-open feature makes it seem perfect—no mods needed, unlike the Spoc. But in practice, the Nano is so small that the carabiner presses into the rope, creating a ton of drag. Even with skinny biners, I found it feeds with nearly 2x the resistance of a Micro Traxion or Spoc. And when it comes to TR solo, smooth feeding is critical, and actually makes the system safer.
