Daniel Penny (born 1998 or 1999) is a former United States Marine who gained national attention following an incident on May 1, 2023, in which he restrained and killed Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old homeless man, on a New York City subway.

Daniel Penny is a Marine veteran from West Islip, New York. At the time of the killing, he was 24 years old. He was indicted for the death of Jordan Neely. He hired Thomas Kenniff, a former Republican candidate for district attorney, to represent him. [20] Shortly after the chokehold, Penny was interviewed by detectives.
