Yosemite was placed under an updated winter storm watch by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 4:47 a.m. The watch is valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday, Mar. 17 at 11 p.m.

The NWS Reno NV issued a winter storm watch at 2:05 p.m. on Friday valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday 11 p.m. for Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra counties.

Counties included in the severe thunderstorm watch (the first of 2025 in Minnesota) include: Blue Earth, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Jackson, Martin, Mower, Olmsted, Steele, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona. The watch is in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday.

A winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 2:05 p.m. valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday, Mar. 17 at 11 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

The mega storm hitting the central U.S. on Friday will catch Minnesota on the northern end, bringing heavy snow and blizzard conditions to the west of the state, and possibly severe thunderstorms to the south and the Twin Cities.
