Many developers from two PlayStation support studios report that they've been impacted in a recent wave of "widespread" layoffs.

PlayStation support studio Visual Arts has reportedly become the latest industry body to be hit by the ongoing wave of layoffs.

Sony has laid off a number of developers at PlayStation’s Visual Arts studio and its Malaysian support studio, with a new report suggesting many staff are affected. On Monday, former PlayStation Visual Arts project manager Abby LeMaster posted a message on LinkedIn stating that “many” people from the Visual Arts group had lost their job that day.

The PlayStation-owned studio Visual Arts was hit with fresh layoffs this week amid a further restructuring of Sony’s U.S. game development operations. While some of the cuts included staff who had contributed to recently canceled projects like an upcoming live-service game at Bend Studio,

PlayStation has been hit with more layoffs from its Visual Arts studio, following the recent cancellations of multiple live-service games. The layoffs come amid a restructuring of Sony's US studios, as an unknown number of staff from the San Diego-based Visual Arts studio will be let go this week.
