South Korean opposition leader Lee Jae-myung said on Friday the best way to restore order in the country is to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol, a day ahead of a planned parliamentary vote over Yoon's short-lived imposition of martial law.

SEOUL - South Korea’s opposition leader warned his ruling party colleagues on Dec 13 that “history will remember” if they do not back the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol, with just over 24 hours until a vote to remove him from office.

The president's statement came just hours before the main opposition party submitted a new impeachment motion against him.
