The decision to search a landfill near Winnipeg had become a political issue in the western Canadian province, largely because the victims were all Indigenous women.

Police in Manitoba have discovered the remains of Morgan Harris, who was killed by convicted murderer Jeremy Skibicki in 2022

Morgan Harris's remains were recovered at the Prairie Green Landfill, north of the city of Winnipeg, said officials. Authorities have been searching for Harris, 39, and Marcedes Myran, 26, both of Long Plain First Nation. Police say two sets of remains have been found.
