HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Christian Wilkins’ expected impact on the Raiders’ defensive line was in question long before he was shockingly released last week, which if nothing else provided clarity on what kind of front Las Vegas can take into the season.

The Raiders released defensive tackle Christian Wilkins due to a lingering foot injury. Second-year player Jonah Laulu is expected to replace Wilkins in the starting lineup. Adam Butler, another defensive tackle, believes Laulu has the potential to excel in the run game.
