The Milford high school student who spent six days in immigration detention before his release on bail Thursday said his immediate desire is to get back to “regular life,” and high school exams.

Da Silva was arrested while driving his teammates to volleyball practice, with ICE agents stating they intended to apprehend his father. The teen described poor conditions within the facility, including sleeping on concrete floors and limited access to basic necessities.

Marcelo Gomes, the Milford, Massachusetts teenager who was arrested by ICE on his way to volleyball practice was released from custody.
