The Alexander Isak saga drags on with a sensational move for the Sweden striker now appearing to be increasingly dependent upon whether Newcastle can seal the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig

Newcastle have aggressively pursued the Slovenian amid concerns that Alexander Isak could force through a move to Liverpool. The Magpies are also said to have reached a verbal agreement with the forward over personal terms. Both clubs have submitted bids to RB Leipzig and are awaiting the outcome.

Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris has signed a new contract at the Stadium of Light running to the summer of 2028. Le Bris, 49, was appointed in late June of last year and guided Sunderland to promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs in his first season.
