Following the shooting, the SUV fled and a pursuit took place into the area of 59th Lane and Northern Avenue in Glendale. While in the area, one of the suspects got out of the vehicle and fled while the driver stayed and attempted to flee. After a short distance traveled, the SUV was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

Phoenix police were involved in a police shooting in Gilbert that left one man dead and a woman hospitalized, officials said. According to Phoenix police, officers were led to the area of Williams Field and Higley roads in Gilbert while responding to an alleged kidnapping.
