A federal judge questions the Trump administration on implementation plans for controversial birthright citizenship executive order as advocacy groups file class action lawsuits in response.

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Friday to curtail federal judges’ authority to issue nationwide injunctions against President Donald Trump’s executive order ending automatic birthright citizenship, though the policy’s future remains unclear as litigation continues in lower courts.

The plaintiffs say ICE's practice of arresting people without a warrant and holding them without determining whether or not they are a flight risk is illegal.
