UFC had to pay big bucks to Renato Moicano in order for him to step in at a day's notice and fight Islam Makhachev at UFC 311.

Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev submitted 10th-ranked Renato Moicano at 4:05 of the first round Saturday night at UFC 311 for his 15th straight victory.

The headlining fight for UFC 311 saw Islam Makhachev attempt to defend his lightweight belt for a fourth time against short-notice title challenger Renato Moicano.

In the main event of UFC 311, we saw a lightweight title fight that came together in a little less than 24 hours. Lightweight champion and current P4P king Islam Makhachev (26-1) took on Renato Moicano (20-5-1). Originally, Moicano was supposed to face Beneil Dariush while Makhachev was supposed to face Arman Tsarukyan.

Beneil Dariush is being taken care of, as Dana White had promised. Dariush was originally scheduled to fight Renato Carneiro at UFC 311 on Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Las Vegas. However, the card saw some turbulence on the day of the weigh-ins when the main event fell through.
