WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday confirmed John Ratcliffe as CIA director , President Donald Trump ’s nominee to lead America’s premier spy agency and his second nominee to win Senate approval.

John Ratcliffe was sworn in as the new CIA Director after the Senate confirmed him with a 74-25 vote. Ratcliffe, a Texas Republican and former federal prosecutor, previously served as the Director of National Intelligence under President Donald Trump.
