LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that on January 20, 2025, at 11 p.m., the feature of CBP One™ that allowed people to submit information and book appointments at eight southwest border ports is no longer available.

The CBP One app went offline as President Donald Trump returned to power. The move is likely a precursor to Trump's immigration policies.

The app has come under scrutiny in the past from Republicans, with some stating it has been used to hide illegal immigration.

CBP One, a border app that has allowed nearly 1 million people to legally enter the United States with eligibility to work, was abruptly shut down on Monday, shortly after President-elect Donald Trump took office.

"The first 100 days are going to be the most aggressive, change oriented policy proposals and procedures that we've ever seen," KOAT political expert Brian Sanderoff said.

Eagle Pass residents said they felt the need for change. The once blue county turned red for the first time in decades in November.
