Sony attempts to make its current-gen console more accessible by offering rental options for gamers who aren’t ready to commit to a purchase.

Sony has announced a new beta program for PlayStation players. In a blog post, the firm described it as an "easier, more consolidated" way for players to sign up for future beta tests. The program requires a single registration, after which participants will be able to express interest to test games that fit their preferences.

We're over four years into the current generation of consoles (which is probably past the halfway point) and while Sony is still selling tons of PlayStation 5 units, the price of the system means it remains out of reach for many.
