NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KCAU) — On Tuesday, North Sioux City voters decided whether or not the current form of city government should be changed. North Sioux City voters had two options on Tuesday’s ballot: “Yes” or “No”. A few people told KCAU 9 they didn’t want things to change. “I stand on the no vote,” resident Bob Greiner said.

Right now, North Sioux City’s city government consists of a mayor and eight aldermen, who are elected from four “wards.” The city’s new form of government will consist of a mayor and four commissioners. Commissioners to fill that new five-member commission will need to be elected by voters in North Sioux City.

In October, a petition to change North Sioux City’s government reached the required number of signatures allowing for a special election on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
