The new world of college football centers around the transfer portal during the offseason and between games. But the portal isn’t just for players who have already placed their name in it. No, players are also being pursued by other programs to enter the portal and leave their current school.

Iowa redshirt freshman tight end Grant Leeper is reportedly entering the NCAA transfer portal. Leeper played in two games during the 2024 season, but he did not record any stats. The 6-foot-5, 248 pound tight end signed with Iowa in the Hawkeyes’ 2023 class.

Iowa State quarterback and former Ankeny High School star J.J. Kohl is entering the college football transfer portal. Kohl served as a backup to redshirt sophomore quarterback Rocco Becht in both of his years at Iowa State.
