The Elks Krewe of Orleanians and the Krewe of Crescent City truck parades rolled on a shortened route in New Orleans, Sunday, March 9, 2025, a reschedule of both Mardi Gras Day parades that were cancelled because of high winds.

The Mardi Gras party hasn't stopped as three parades that were rescheduled due to weather will roll Sunday. Elks Krewe of Orleanians started at 9 a.m. at Tchoupitoulas Street at Napoleon Avenue and will end at the intersection of Toledano Street and South Claiborne.

Barkus was scheduled for Feb. 23, but had to be pushed back due to heavy rain. The Krewe of Crescent City and the Krewe of Elks are typically among the last parades to roll on Mardi Gras day in New Orleans. Both were rescheduled — as were parades in Jefferson Parish — after a storm brought heavy wind and rain to the area.

NEW ORLEANS — Zulu and Rex will both roll early with no marching krewes, bands or truck floats in an effort to beat the high winds expected to hit the metro area on Fat Tuesday. The announcement comes as other parishes announced cancellations or earlier start times for parades. However, changes in weather could present new changes.
