Negotiations between the county and Bengals on a new lease for the county-owned Paycor Stadium appear to have hit a major snag during the summer.

Tuesday it had reached a deal to acquire Norwood-based Paycor for $4.1 billion, leaving question marks about what would happen with the naming rights deal and plans to move into the revamped Saks department store building.

On Tuesday, Rochester-based Paychex announced it would acquire the Norwood human resources software company in a deal expected to close in the first half of 2025. In 2022, Paycor inked a 16-year deal to affix its name to the stadium for an undisclosed sum. Recent regulatory filings indicate the contract was worth $67 million.
