Charlotte Ellis starts Wednesday as St. Helens High School’s acting principal, taking the helm after its former principal, a choir teacher and retired teacher were arrested in the past month in connection with a sexual misconduct investigation at the school.

Principal Kathryn Wagner was placed on administrative leave shortly after the arrests of two teachers who police accused of sexually abusing students.

Parents in St. Helens are continuing their protests over alleged sex abuse within the district's schools, calling for more drastic changes to the school board and investigations of all teachers and board members.
