A suspected drunk driver is in custody after a head-on collision on a Detroit freeway early Sunday, according to Michigan State Police.

A suspected drunk driver was arrested after one person was injured in a wrong-way crash on the Southfield Freeway, according to Michigan State Police.

This driver risked the lives of other drivers and road users when they got behind the wheel drunk," said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. “There are just too many ways to get around if you decide to drink. Getting behind the wheel impaired is unacceptable.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center first received calls of a wrong-way driver going northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway. As troopers were responded, dispatchers were notified of a head-on crash near Joy Road. Both drivers were alert when police arrived on scene.

The small aircraft went down near a retirement village south of Lancaster Airport, the Manheim Borough Police Department told ABC News. All five passengers were transported to Lancaster General Hospital,
