Toronto Police have kicked off fraud prevention month by revealing the top-five frauds in the city from last year. In 2024, police said they received 16,743 fraud reports — an average of 45 daily — and investigated over $368.6 million in reported fraud and scam losses.
Toronto police are searching for a 29-year-old man — a husband and a father — who has been missing since he left his east end home more than a week ago.

At least 12 people were injured in a shooting at a pub in a Toronto suburb on Friday night, police said. The victims in the shooting in Scarborough, a district in eastern Toronto, all ranged in age from their 20s to mid-50s, according to the Toronto Police Service.
