Only minutes after being sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump praised Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security policies and promised Texas would have support from Washington now that he was in office.

U.S. officials say active duty military troops are arriving in El Paso, Texas, and in San Diego on Thursday evening.

It's the first batch of troops deployed to the border following President Trump’s executive order demanding an immediate crackdown on immigration.
