KFC stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken — everyone knows this, even chicken eaters outside of the United States. But the chain, long based in Kentucky, is relocating after 95 years of making chicken with the Southern state as its home base (KFC’s headquarters is in Louisville).

The chicken chain’s parent company, Yum Brands, announced Tuesday that KFC’s corporate headquarters is leaving Kentucky for Texas, joining sister brand Pizza Hut’s offices in the Dallas suburb of Plano.

In a move that’s ruffling more than just feathers, KFC’s parent company, Yum Brands — also the owner of Taco Bell and Pizza Hut — announced it would be relocating KFC’s corporate headquarters from Kentucky to Texas,

"This strategic decision will involve relocating KFC U.S. corporate office employees currently in Louisville, Kentucky, to the KFC and Pizza Hut Global headquarters in Plano, Texas. In addition, U.S.-based remote employees will be asked to relocate to the campus where their work happens."
