There have been reports that Fox will need finger surgery this summer, and if the Spurs decide to embrace the tank and fall down the stadings, shutting down their trade deadline aquistion might be their only option, lest they stay near the tenth-worst team, which all but prevents them from landing the first overall pick.

The Sacramento Kings put together a franchise-shaking move ahead of the NBA trade deadline, sending star point guard De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs.
