Thanks to an ankle injury he suffered during exhibition play, the Los Angeles Kings were forced to play the first several months of the 2024-25 NHL season without veteran defenseman and assistant captain Drew Doughty.

Drew Doughty is day to day because of a lower-body injury that kept the defenseman out of the Los Angeles Kings’ game against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.

Doughty notched an assist, blocked four shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Blues.

Quinton Byfield scored on a wrist shot 27 seconds into overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 win Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues. Byfield got his 13th goal of the season, capitalizing on a turnover forced by Adrian Kempe before scoring from the left circle to end the Kings’ five-game skid.

The Dallas Stars host the Los Angeles Kings looking to extend a three-game home winning streak. Dallas has a 37-19-2 record overall and a 20-7-1 record in home games. The Stars have conceded 149 goals while scoring 192 for a +43 scoring differential.
