Thanksgiving is almost here and many Missourians are wondering what kind of weather to expect. Here are what some weather services are predicting.
Fog is expected to redevelop overnight and into Monday as cloud cover begins to increase from the west associated with our next storm system. Temperatures won’t fall much, but are expected to drop into the middle 40s with patchy fog and drizzle for the morning hours.
Colder air is arriving for Thanksgiving in Kansas City. Post-holiday snow could impact travel plans in north-central and northeast Missouri.
WE CALL AN AN IMPACT DAY. JAMIE. JUST A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN SHOWERS THERE IN FAR NORTHWEST MISSOURI NEAR SAINT JOSEPH IN MARYVILLE, STANBERRY THAT’S MOVING UP INTO IOWA. THAT’S NOT IMPACTING THE METRO ANYMORE.
A dry, seasonal Sunday gives way to a unsettled Monday, with rain chances increasing Monday evening. Cooler air arrives Wednesday and lasts the rest of the week.
Our winter forecast is heavily influenced by current water temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, which significantly modify air masses as they move over land and water. We are currently in a La Niña pattern, characterized by colder-than-normal water off the coast of Peru. Conversely, warmer water has pooled west along the California coast.
Some of the rain will be heavy enough to lead to flash flooding. Some of the thunderstorms will be severe, with high winds, hail and perhaps a couple of tornadoes.
The Bulldogs can expect some chilly weather Saturday night in Columbia as they look to reach bowl eligibility.
