Slowed by four main parachutes in predawn darkness, the SpaceX Dragon Endeavour spacecraft descended and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday, Jan. 15, wrapping up NASA's first-ever astronaut medical evacuation from the International Space Station.

All (names) aboard! As final preparations ramp up for Artemis II — a mission that will send four astronauts farther into space than any crew has ever traveled — NASA is giving the public a chance to take part in the historic journey by sending their names around the Moon.

The crew spent less than 170 days on the space station. It marked the first time NASA cut short an ISS mission for medical reasons. The departure of Crew-11 leaves the ISS with just three staff members: two Russian cosmonauts, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergei Mikaev, and NASA astronaut Chris Williams.

NASA and SpaceX are targeting no earlier than 5:05 p.m. EST, Wednesday, Jan. 14, for the undocking of the agency’s SpaceX Crew-11 mission.
