Not that long from now — at 3 p.m. ET on March 7, to be precise — the 2025 NHL trade deadline will pass and general managers will no longer be able to improve their teams ahead of the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs. The rumor mill is certainly churning now, with players being linked to teams left and right as the deadline ticks closer.

Another player who fits the Lightning’s needs is Chicago forward Ryan Donato. Donato’s 17 even-strength goals are tied for 11th in the NHL despite averaging just 12:55 of ice time. His 1.34 goals per 60 minutes ranks seventh in the league among players with 50 games or more.
