Catcher Kevin Plawecki, who spent three seasons with the Red Sox from 2020-22, announced his retirement Saturday via Instagram. Plawecki, 33, had a nine-year major league career with the Mets, Indians, Red Sox, and Rangers. He was a .235 hitter with 22 home runs who was known for his acumen behind the plate.
