The Pentagon is ending the deployment of all but 250 National Guard troops that remained in Los Angeles who were originally sent to the city to deal with protests over the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

In response to the Pentagon's announcement of the release of the Guardsmen in Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass said on X, "Another win for Los Angeles tonight: 1,000 more troops are retreating."

Approximately 250 California National Guardsmen remain in Los Angeles to protect personnel and property,” said a Pentagon spokesperson.

A new wildfire was reported today at 6:14 p.m. in Los Angeles County, California. The wildfire has been burning on private land. At this time, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it has yet to be determined.
