The Minnesota Wild are able to sign their superstar Kirill Kaprizov to a contract extension on July 1 and talks have already been swirling for months now. Obviously, the team wants to keep their best player and one of the best wingers on the planet.

Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold made it crystal clear that the team is thinking about Kirill Kaprizov's next contract. First things first. Kaprizov will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2025-26 season,

Even with Kirill Kaprizov seemingly scoring at will, he lifts his teammates in other ways that don't appear on the scoresheet.

Kaprizov has 43 points (18 goals, 25 assists) in 27 games, second in the NHL to Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, who has 46 points (10 goals, 36 assists) in 30 games. Kaprizov leads the Wild in scoring by a 15-point margin.
