Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger announces immediate retirement
Intel CEO CEO Pat Gelsinger has retired, with David Zinsner and Michelle Johnston Holthaus named as interim Co-CEOs. Gelsinger, whose career has spanned more than 40 years, also stepped down from the company's board. He started at Intel in 1979 at Intel and was its first chief technology officer. He returned to Intel as chief executive in 2021.
Intel’s Chief Executive Is Out Amid Chipmaker’s Struggles
Mr. Gelsinger, who took the helm of the chipmaker in 2021, will be replaced in the interim by two Intel executives, David Zinsner and Michelle Johnston Holthaus. The company appointed a board member, Frank Yeary, to serve as the company’s interim executive chair, and it said it would continue its search for permanent replacements.
