How Mets pitching duo talked Frankie Montas into signing with team
On Sunday, the Mets signed former Yankees starter Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract. Like Manaea’s deal last season, the contract, which will pay him $17 million each season, includes a player opt-out for the second year of the agreement.
Frankie Montas, at this point, looks to join a rotation that includes Senga, David Peterson, Tylor Megill and Paul Blackburn.
Montas is another pitching project, but the Mets had success with two of them last season and hope to repeat it again in 2025 ...
