Officials asked in a separate post that motorists drive at least 10 miles per hour below posted speed limits while snowy road conditions continue.

DETROIT (FOX 2) - - The first ‘snow’ of the season brought more than just flurries—it also caused approximately 150 crashes in the metro Detroit over the past 24 hours, according to Michigan State Police. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, but four patrol cars were struck while officers were investigating crash scenes.

Lake-effect snow showers and cold temperatures on Friday caused problems across metro Detroit roads, leading to crashes and closures.

Snow also is turning Black Friday white, with weather, and police warning of temporary freeway closures and intervals of low-to-no visibility. It is a day that, so far, has been marked by holiday shopping discounts,
