LSU football will head to Houston to face Baylor in the Texas Bowl. We're still a few weeks away from kickoff on New Year's Eve. But once the transfer portal talk settles down, attention will shift to the game.

The last time LSU played in the Texas Bowl, head coach Brian Kelly watched his new team from a suite. LSU played with 38 available scholarship players amid a coaching change, its roster so worn down by injuries and attrition that a wide receiver filled in at quarterback.

Baylor won’t have to leave the state for its bowl matchup as the Bears are set to face LSU in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl at Houston’s NRG Stadium. The Texas Bowl annually pits a Big 12 team against an SEC team. Baylor last played in the Texas Bowl in 2018, when the Bears beat Vanderbilt 45-38.

Texas Bowl tickets are available for purchase. Prices on StubHub are listed from $95 to more than $300 for a single ticket. On Ticketmaster, one ticket is going from $75 to $200-plus. Lowest priced tickets on Vivid Seats are going for $85 while on Seat Geek, tickets are as low as $88.

It will be the first meeting between LSU and Baylor on the gridiron since the 1985 Liberty Bowl. LSU leads the overall series with the Bears, 8-3. The Tigers, winners of their last two games, stand at 8-4 overall after closing the regular-season with victories over Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.
