A group of students with disabilities visited a Cracker Barrel in Waldorf, Maryland, and were refused service, according to school officials, leading to community outcry and a planned protest.

A general manager and two other employees were dismissed from a Cracker Barrel in Waldorf, Maryland, after the restaurant sparked outrage over its treatment of special education students who were visiting on a field trip.

According to an email to parents sent by Charles County Public Schools Superintendent Maria Navarro and special education teacher Katie Schneider, the restaurant’s staff members refused to serve the children and even asked that the they be removed from a list of businesses willing to participate in the school’s program.
