The Miami Dolphins have placed Alexander Mattison on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending neck injury.

The Miami Dolphins lost one of their running backs for the 2025 season as Alexander Mattison was placed on injured reserve after injuring his neck during Miami's preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Mattison had surgery in Chicago after being taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to ESPN.

Alexander Mattison was one of the best performers in training camp for the Dolphins. He sustained a neck injury in Sunday’s preseason opener at Chicago.
