The remains of an indigenous woman murdered by a serial killer have been found after a search of a landfill in the Canadian province of Manitoba, police say.

The murders of two Indigenous women by a serial killer led to a pressure campaign to search the landfill near Winnipeg after authorities initially refused.

Police and the medical examiner are now investigating and seeking to identify the remains as those of Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran.
