BSE Sensex and Nifty50, the Indian equity benchmark indices, continues to tank for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday. While BSE Sensex crashed over 1,100 points, Nifty50 was below 23,100.

At 11:32 AM, the Sensex was down 346 points or 0.5 percent at 76,965, while the Nifty slipped 126 points or 0.5 percent to 23,255. About 540 shares advanced, 2,871 shares declined, and 98 shares were unchanged. Today marked the fifth straight session of losses for the benchmarks.

Sensex and Nifty opened lower as global markets reacted to US tariff hikes. Sensex fell 100 points, Nifty dropped below 23,400, and Eicher Motors plunged 5 per cent.

Indian stock markets BSE Sensex opened today down by 183.88 points or 0.24 percent at 77,127.92 after its previous close of 77,311.80 on Monday whereas NSE Nifty index is currently at 23,311.40, down 70.

The Indian share market carried forward the muted sentiment from the previous trading session on Tuesday. The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, continued to drag down as tariff threats from the US triggered concerns about trade conflicts across the world.
