Actress Diane Ladd, who starred in critically acclaimed films such as “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Chinatown,” has died at the age of 89. CNN reports that actress Laura Dern, Ladd’s daughter, announced Monday that her mother had died at Ladd’s home in Ojai, California. No cause of death was released.
Three-time Academy Award nominee Diane Ladd died on Monday morning at the age of 89, less than a month shy of her 90th birthday. News of her death was shared by her daughter with her first husband, Bruce Dern, Oscar winner Laura Dern.
Her best-known tagline was also her first to be published, written for “Alien”: “In space no one can hear you scream.”
