Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani visited the family of slain NYPD cop Didarul Islam, who was killed by NYC shooter Shane Tamura.

Freshly back from a vacation to Uganda, Democratic New York City mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani visited with the family of slain NYPD officer Didarul Islam on Wednesday.

In an interview with Gothamist, Mamdani said he learned about the missed connection from Islam’s brother-in-law, Kamrul Hasan, who is also a police officer. Mamdani said he called Hasan earlier this week to offer his condolences.
