JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The defense and prosecution have now rested in the trial of Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr. The 24-year-old is being charged with capital murder. He is accused of kidnapping and killing his Ole Miss classmate Jimmie Jay Lee. Police say the crime happened more than two years ago, in July of 2022.
The final witnesses spoke Tuesday, and Sheldon Timothy Herrington did not testify. Closing arguments are Wednesday.
