Gunmen terrorists attacked tourists at Baisaran meadow, killing 26 people, with security forces now hunting for the Pakistani terrorists involved. The Resistance Front claimed responsibility, and investigations are underway to uncover the network behind the attack.

The US is in touch with both India and Pakistan in a bid to de-escalate tensions in the wake of April 22, Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir which claimed 26 lives, even as Pakistan continued ceasefire violations along LoC for fourth consecutive night.

Following the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to pursue those responsible "to the ends of the earth" and suggested severe repercussions for the perpetrators.
