Only half the cash needed for the 300-cop, six-month surge is lined up — and Hochul asked for the remaining funds in the budget plan she unveiled Tuesday.

Uniformed cops on trains began rolling out Monday night, and eventually two officers will ride every train running between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., the department said.

As she promised in her State of the State address​, Gov. Kathy Hochul has added hundreds of NYPD officers to subway platforms and trains during overnight hours.
