Just after 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a non-injury crash at the intersection of Kansas 42 and Maize Road, according to Sheriff's Department Spokesman Branden Stitt. While outside his patrol vehicle and investigating the initial crash, a westbound pickup struck the deputy.
