The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office is holding a press conference to update the public on the Ryan Borgwardt case after he was taken into custody, months after he allegedly faked his death and fled the country.

Online records show that Ryan Borgwardt, the “missing kayaker” who faked his death and fled the country, is now in custody at the Green Lake County jail.

The Green Lake Sheriff has confirmed in a news conference that Ryan Borgwardt, the man who is in custody for allegedly faking his own death, came back to the United States "on his own."
